Magic Leap Finally Unveils Its Headset

Magic Leap shows off its Magic Leap One ‘Creator Edition’ AR headset, shipping in 2018.At long last, the day has come. Magic Leap has shared a first look at what they’ve been building with the cash they’ve raised from Google, Alibaba and others.
Today, the highly valued augmented reality startup shared early details on the Magic Leap One “Creator Edition,” an AR headset for developers (“Built for Creators”) that the company says it will ship in 2018. No details on price as of yet or when a consumer version could emerge, but hey, something exists!
The Magic Leap One “Creator Edition” consists of three pieces of hardware.
Lightwear: a headset utilizing the company’s ” Digital Lightfield” display technology with multiple integrated sensors to gather spatial information.
Lightpack: a fairly hefty circular belt-worn hip pack that contains the compute powering the headset and is tethered to the goggles.
Control: a handheld controller that can be tracked in space that helps users navigate menu selections and the world Magic Leap is building.

Apple confirmed Wednesday that it's true older models will slow with age. Apple's statement said.  "Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components,". Apple's confirmation comes after Reddit user noticed that their devices were getting slower as the batteries in their i Phones got weaker. Subsequent tests on older iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 and recent versions of Apple's i OS software by John Poole, founder of the popular Geek bench bench marking tool for measuring performance on devices.

Samsung developed Smallest DRAM chip



 Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said on Wednesday it has developed the world's smallest DRAM chip. There are a handful of semiconductor manufacturer with the capability to produce DRAM chips, and they are  Micron (Crucial), Samsung, and Hynix. Today’s statement of Samsung get the leads over these companies.
The "second-generation" 10-nanometre class, 8-gigabit DRAM chips with improved energy efficiency and data processing performance. It would be geared toward premium data-crunching electronics such as cloud computing centers, mobile devices and high-speed graphic cards.
The global leader in computer chips, televisions and smartphones said it would shift most of its existing DRAM production capacity to 10-nano chips in 2018.


This "aggressive" production expansion would "accommodate strong market demand," said Gyoyoung Jin, president of Memory Business at Samsung Electronics.
